What can we do to make youth group better?

What do you enjoy about our youth group? What do you think could be different? How can we make it easier to bring along friends to Couch and Sn@P?

Would it make it easy to invite people along if we swapped sn@p and the couch?

We could have more socials to get to know eachother better/grow in fellowship

I think that with bringing more people to the couch, it would maybe make it easier if we kinda had more events- like last year, where we had milkshakes and frisbee games…that was good:) (although it was for Sn@p)

But for those already at couch, I think the fellowship thing is going really great- and more socials is good, as long as it doesn’t turn into more of a “meet people” thing, rather than a time where we congregate to learn about God.

What sort of social things are you guys thinking?
Like outings? If so what sort of things would be good?

social things like frisbee at the oval are pretty cool :D we also used to go to bowling or zone 3 (only occasionally though, so it doesnt get old)

Okay.
Social=my idea. :) but oh well.
When we were at HYPE we had awesome socials. Like bowling, lazer tag. and frisbee last year was awesome fun. so if we did those once a term. then we could have the opportunity to invite our friendsees :)
And i had another idea the other day. But i forgot it :(
chocolatefountainomnomnom:)

Thanks for all the idea’s. If you have any more keep them coming.
Some of the special things planned for term 2 are:
Lindfield united, African muso’s, a couch away and a social event.
Let me know if there is anything in particular that you would like to do for the social.

musoooooooooooos
so pumped
btw wheres lindfield united at this year?
social idea – kebab adventure!! thoughts?

kebabs and ice creams/harbour cruise/harbour bridge walk chillout yep yep

gonna throw this classic idea out there, “scavenger hunt”, there I said it. dunno if it’d work with inviting new people tho… I think some of the better ideas are ones where we’re all together as a youthgroup.

+ let’s get garage hymnal in for a praise and worship night! or host our own! with a question/answer service and short easy to digest talk on Jesus!

agreed with The BT

this is a collaborative effort of ideas, some might not be relevant tho… :)

masterchef, themed weeks(eg countries), survivor, treasure hunt-stuff in trees, cooking, ice skating, rock climbing, science experiments, music stuff/songs, memory verses, movie nights, separate sleepovers, painting/art/artwork/banner, trivia nights, question night with ppl on a panel (that might be too similar to snap tho), and a chocolate fountain lol

15 Samuel Baumgart :: 17/04/10 07:59 PM

i fourth that praise and worship idea! with or without garage hymnal it won’t matter – and maybe have the question-panel as part of it? (and supper with the chocolate fountain after!)
scavenger hunt sounds gooooood, or maybe an event like an “amazing race”? (idea originally from epic…)
